Incarnation Symbols

Descending Dove. The dove signifies the Holy Spirit and
the presence of God. Matthew 1:18,20, 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11;
Luke 1:35, 3:21-22

Star. The Star announced the Birth of Christ to the wise men
and came to rest over Bethlehem. Matthew 2:1-12.

Lily. The lily is a symbol for the Virgin Mary. Luke 1:26-56.

Manger. The manger is a symbol for the Lord's nativity and
holds the infant Child with a nimbus to suggest the divinity
of the Child. Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:23; Luke 2:1-20.

Gladiolus Flower. The Incarnation, the "Word became flesh."
The living sword -- the Living Word. The sword plant is another
name for gladiolus. John 1:1-14; Hebrews 4:12.
