Pastor Lee Attema
Our most recent pastor was Lee Attema. Lee has an Associate Degree in Nursing, a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, a Master’s in Nursing and a Master of Divinity. He has worked as a paramedic in urban areas on the East Coast and been an Emergency Room nurse. As a Nurse Practitioner, he owned and operated a family practice clinic in Freeport which has been bought by another clinic and now employs him. He has operated free clinics in Houston.
Since graduating from Seminary he has pastored churches in New England, Virginia and Texas. He has also worked for and with the New Bedford Inter-Church Council, been a prison chaplain and worked for Prison Fellowship. He has an interest in outreach and feels a calling to work with those in need.
Pastor Attema ran a free clinic for the indigent on Thursday evenings at the church as long as he was employed as a nurse practitioner at the medical clinic. That clinic closed in November 2013 when Pastor Attema was reassigned to out-of-town clinics.
Pastor Lee Attema was joined in ministry by his wife Leslie Attema, and they served together until September 25, 2016, when they retired from the pastorate.
